    fatton

What does "fatton" mean in English? It seems to have to do only with wine. Examples: Vinet har ett långt kryddigt avslut med en tydlig, balanserad *fatton*. Doften är mjuk och fruktig av mogna plommon och med en lätt *fatton*. Detta återfinns även i smaken som har en mycket tilltalande balans mellan frukt och bär. En vit Bordeaux med sötmogen guläpplig fruktighet och frisk citrus–touche kryddad med lite rostad *fatton*. Bra matvin. Anyone know this one?

"Fatton", literally "cask nuance", is a diminutive of "fatkaraktär", literally "cask character". I am not very familiar with wine terminology in english but "fatton" describes the aromas wine, beer or spirits acquire from fermenting or aging in an oak cask, an aroma often described as a subtle hints of wood, vanilla or butterscotch.

I've just googled around a bit and see that barrel tone is used a fair bit in relation to wine. So that's definitely a possibility. Perhaps some other readers have other suggestions.
